Rennradfahrer und Triathleten, die ein aktuelles Disc-Bike fahren, profitieren von seinem geringeren Luftwiderstand, der leichten Konstruktion und einem Felgenprofil, das speziell auf großvolumige Rennradreifen ausgelegt ist

Viele aktuelle Rennräder sind bereits mit Scheibenbremsen ausgestattet – und die Triathlon-Superbikes von morgen werden das auch sein. Der Wegfall der Bremsflanke eröffnet viele Möglichkeiten in Sachen Aerodynamik und Struktur. Wenn man keine ebene Bremsflanke konstruieren und die hohen Bremstemperaturen managen muss, kann man die Felge leichter und ihr Profil aerodynamischer machen sowie eine bessere Tubeless-Performance erzielen.

Die ersten Scheibenbremsen tauchen bereits an den aerodynamischsten Bikes der Welt auf und das SES 7.8 ist ebenfalls bereit. Die meisten Laufrad-Hersteller labeln einfach ihre Felgenbrems-Modelle um, verdecken die Bremsflanken mit Aufklebern und verwenden Disc-Naben sowie mehr Speichen, doch dabei verschenken sie viel Performance-Potenzial. Ohne die Einschränkungen durch Bremsflanken können wir das Felgenprofil neu überdenken. So basiert das SES 7.8 Disc auf unserer patentierten SES-Felgenbauform, die für Scheibenbremsen optimiert wurde. Außerdem sind die SES 7.8 Disc-Versionen für Draht- und Schlauchreifen viel leichter, weil kein Zusatzmaterial zur Bewältigung der Bremswärme benötigt wird. Ohne Bremsflanken kann die Felge noch aero-effizienter und stoßfester geformt werden. Zuletzt ist das SES 7.8 Disc für Drahtreifen Road Tubeless-kompatibel und kann doch auch mit herkömmlichen Schläuchen und Reifen gefahren werden. Wie die gesamte aktuelle SES-Modellreihe wurde auch das 7.8 Disc aerodynamisch optimiert und auf 25-mm-Reifen ausgelegt

ENVE SES 2.2, 3.4, 5.6, 7.8, 3.4 Disc, 5.6 Disc, 7.8 Disc, SES Rear Disc Wheel – There are no limitations on tire compatibility with these wheel models. Your ENVE SES wheels may be set up and run with inner-tubes and non-tubeless tires or tubeless (TL) and tubeless ready (TLR) tires alike. We recommend the use of a Tubeless (TL) or Tubeless Ready (TLR) 700x25c tire set up tubeless to maximize aerodynamics, rolling resistance, crosswind stability, and your ride experience.

Non-Tubeless Setup (i.e. I want to run inner-tubes) – Each ENVE SES wheelset is delivered with one roll of RED, model specific, ENVE tested and approved tubeless rim tape. This tape should be installed regardless of whether you intend to run your wheels tubeless or not. Do not run cloth or plastic (including ENVE) non-tubeless compatible rim tape or strips. Plastic rim strips and cloth tapes are too thick, bridge the drop-center rim channel, and will make installation and removal of tires extremely difficult. Cotton and/or Natural Fiber Sidewall TiresENVE does NOT RECOMMEND the use of cotton or natural fiber sidewall non-tubeless tires with ENVE SES wheelsets for EVERYDAY USE. These tires are intended for high-performance racing applications only. If you choose to run these tires, please inspect your tires after each ride for cuts, tears, and any signs of abrasion and/or wear in the sidewall and at the location of the rim/tire interface. If any wear and/or damage is identified, replace before riding. Riders who choose to run tires with cotton or natural fiber sidewalls do so at their own risk.

Front Axle

ENVE supports standard 100mm and boost 110mm front wheel 15mm thru-axle systems on all wheels except the M90 which uses a 20mm front axle. We can convert thru-axles to accommodate quick releases if your fork requires the use of a quick release. Front axle specifications are provided by your fork manufacturer.
