James got his start in triathlon after volunteering at the inaugural IRONMAN South Africa as a student completing his studies in Nelson Mandela Bay. The next year he was on the start line. He’s now a multiple IRONMAN and IM 70.3 Champion at races across the globe, having won Embrunman, Triathlon Alpe d’Huez, and the magical Challenge Roth. Kona remains his main focus, and a fourth and fifth place at the IRONMAN World Championships have provided enough motivation to keep him chasing the top step in Hawaii.
