ENVE SES 2.2, 3.4, 5.6, 7.8, 3.4 Disc, 5.6 Disc, 7.8 Disc, SES Rear Disc Wheel – There are no limitations on tire compatibility with these wheel models. Your ENVE SES wheels may be set up and run with inner-tubes and non-tubeless tires or tubeless (TL) and tubeless ready (TLR) tires alike. We recommend the use of a Tubeless (TL) or Tubeless Ready (TLR) 700x25c tire set up tubeless to maximize aerodynamics, rolling resistance, crosswind stability, and your ride experience.

Non-Tubeless Setup (i.e. I want to run inner-tubes) – Each ENVE SES wheelset is delivered with one roll of RED, model specific, ENVE tested and approved tubeless rim tape. This tape should be installed regardless of whether you intend to run your wheels tubeless or not. Do not run cloth or plastic (including ENVE) non-tubeless compatible rim tape or strips. Plastic rim strips and cloth tapes are too thick, bridge the drop-center rim channel, and will make installation and removal of tires extremely difficult. Click here for our tubeless tape installation video.

Cotton and/or Natural Fiber Sidewall TiresENVE does NOT RECOMMEND the use of cotton or natural fiber sidewall non-tubeless tires with ENVE SES wheelsets for EVERYDAY USE. These tires are intended for high-performance racing applications only. If you choose to run these tires, please inspect your tires after each ride for cuts, tears, and any signs of abrasion and/or wear in the sidewall and at the location of the rim/tire interface. If any wear and/or damage is identified, replace before riding. Riders who choose to run tires with cotton or natural fiber sidewalls do so at their own risk.

I just upgraded my Cervelo R5 from SES 3.4 to SES 5.6 wheels and was nervous about crosswinds. I went out today in 30km/h gusts and 90 degree crosswinds and they handled beautifully! It’s almost as if they self-compensated for the gusts! I wasn’t nervous at all and I normally am. I can’t recommend these enough! And they are FAST! I have the Chris King matte black hubs…they look amazing!

I have had these for exactly 2 years now. Riding a couple of Lynskey’s the latest being a GR260 mainly on the road with 28mm Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless. These rims are just fantastic. I immediately noticed a tremendous difference in the aero effect while riding with my regular group. On descents here in Napa that I would normally have to pedal to keep up with the group, I now coast and pass people just with the rim change. I use these on gravel rides that are basically dirt road and they are just perfect. I find the ride is markedly more compliant with these rims as they have a much lower pressure and much more air volume. My titanium bike with these rims make it more compliant than my Specialized Roubaix and that’s saying a lot!

Have been riding the 5.6s for over a year now and they remain like new…compliant and fast. In my opinion the ENVE rim brakes perform similarly to disc (in dry conditions). I swap these wheels from a Venge to a Trek Speed Concept with ease. Crosswind compliance and ride quality of this wheel with 25mm tires is impressive.

I rode the 3.4’s for a year or so and they are the best all round fast training wheelset ENVE makes. But coming from a triathlon[aero] background,I was yearning for a deeper version.

Boom! The 5.6 appears. I jumped right on them.

I race Masters and P 1/2 and I am always looking for speed.

One of only 2 high end racing wheelsets of this depth that crack the 1500g barrier.[Roval CL 50’s being the other]. But the added depth of the 5.6’s roll like none other.

A tad slower to wind up than the 3.4’s, but a ton faster and the 100g weight addition[to the 3.4’s] is only slightly noticeable going uphill

Like all SES 20mm inner rim width ENVE’s, these stick like glue going downhill through corners. Just hold on tight, because these are crazy fast!
