SES G Series wheelsets feature a straight sidewall/hookless bead design to ensure best in class tubeless tire performance and are qualified for use with “Tubeless, Tubeless Ready (TLR)” tires, with a labeled width of 28c or greater ONLY. One may safely run inner-tubes as long as the tire itself is of a tubeless or tubeless ready construction.

Please note that the internal rim width of the G23 is 23mm and intended for use with tubeless ready tires between 32-45mm with 40mm tires being the primary focus of the design. The G27 features a 27mm internal width that is intended for pairing with tires between 42-60mm with 55mm/2.0” tires being the target tire width for this rim.

Due to the straight sidewall/hookless design of this rim and inherent high volume design, it is important to understand that not all tires are created equal and for that reason one should pay special attention to the pressure ratings of both the tire and the rim.

G23 – MAX PRESSURE FOR A 32MM TIRE = 60psi/4.1bar

G27 – MAX PRESSURE FOR A 42MM TIRE = 40psi/2.75bar

IN THE CASE THAT TIRE AND RIM MAX PRESSURES ARE DIFFERENT. THE LOWER OF THE TWO PRESSURES BECOMES THE DEFAULT MAX PRESSURE FOR THE SYSTEM.

THE MAX PRESSURE RATING FOR EACH RIM WILL DECREASE AS YOUR TIRE VOLUME/SIZE INCREASES. REFER TO RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE CHART.

ENVE Tip: Trust our tire pressure recommendation chart. The maximum tire pressure ratings on tires are not recommended operating pressures. Running the max pressure will not make you faster, rather, it will actually increase rolling resistance (making you slower) and discomfort (making you slower), jeopardizing the ride experience.

Hands down, the best gravel wheel

I’ve spent the past year riding the G23s and I could not be happier. I’ve ridden a lot of high end wheels over the years, but for gravel, nothing has come close to the ride quality of the G23. They really hit the magic balance here between stiffness and compliance for rugged riding. The G23s really make a difference in smoothing out rough trails but still tracking perfectly in the corners and responding to quick accelerations. They’re also the only rim that I’ve never been able to pinch flat a tire on. These wheels rule!

I have been riding my G23 wheelset for over a year and they have proven to be a bulletproof. I weigh 180ish so I’m not light and these wheels have taken a beating but I’ve had no issues.
Performance wise, the difference is there; all the minor accelerations and direction changes in gravel riding require less effort with these wheels. My previous, now backup wheelset is pretty nice, carbon at ~1550 grams, but there is a clear difference between them. Once you own these and ride them on routes you know, they will shine; buy G23’s and hammer them; you will be glad you did.

Wheels are light and fast and work perfectly on my Specialized Diverge with a 42C tubeless set up. Tough too, given me confidence to charge even for a 200lb+ guy!

These wheels are fast, but there's more to it than that.

I’ve been riding ENVE wheels for the past 5-6 years. When building up my first dream bike, I was doing research all over the place trying to find the perfect set of wheels for my Giant Propel SL. Lots of brands had positive reviews, but those same brands often also had almost as many negative or mixed reviews. ENVE was the only wheel maker I found where the only negative thing I found anyone saying about them was ‘they’re a little pricey.’ Well, yeah, $2900-3500 (as they were priced back then) is lot of money…but really, in the world of expensive bike stuff, they are a bargain for what you get.
Okay, everyone knows they are fast. Here’s the thing: They are also incredibly smooth, more so than any other rim I’ve ever ridden. Here’s another thing: Stability. Where other rims with any depth to them get sketchy in crosswinds, you can go deep with ENVE and have no worries. Even 5.6’s will only give you the jitters on the most absolutely blustery and gusting days. And another thing: Durability. I hope you, dear reader, never has to take product testing to such an extreme, but I’ve been hammered almost head on by a car. I ended up a complete wreck, but my bike was in perfect condition –and the front wheel absorbed all the impact. And it didn’t even need to be trued. It’s crazy…but true. But! And here’s another thing and the real best reason why I recommend ENVE wheels to everyone: Their warranty and customer support are the best in the business. I have friends who were riding ENVE’s and somehow did manage to damage them. It was 99% most likely user abuse that caused the damage. ENVE’s response: “There’s a chance that it’s our fault, no problem, we’ll replace it.” I’ve seen this happen a few times already. It doesn’t get any better, and that’s why, when I’m plunking down for a high end set of wheels, I will choose ENVE.
Speaking more specifically about these G23’s: They turned my old trusty tank of an aluminum entry level gravel bike into a performance machine. The smooth ride, acceleration, and the way they hold speed have turned said bike into a gravel monster and a legitimate second road bike option (when my other is out of commission). If you are looking for the best gravel wheels on the market, these be they. Enjoy.

Super light; super strong; super sexy. I’ve ridden these wheels hard both on- and off-road and have never found an environment in which they don’t excel.
