Optimisée du point de vue aérodynamique, la SES 5.6 Disc est structurellement conçue pour être utilisée avec un freinage à disque. Les cyclistes sur route et les triathlètes montés sur des vélos équipés de freins à disque apprécieront sa traînée aérodynamique réduite, son design allégé et son profil de jante, optimisé pour des pneus de route de plus large volume.

La plupart des roues estampillées « freins à disque » sont en réalité des jantes pour freinage classique agrémentées de moyeux pour disque. Or l’élimination de la surface de freinage offre une infinité de possibilités en matière d’aérodynamisme et de modifications structurelles. Lorsque l’on n’est plus obligé de concevoir de surface de freinage plate et de maîtriser l’échauffement provoqué par le freinage, on peut réduire le poids de la jante, rendre son profil plus aérodynamique et améliorer son étanchéité.

Les freins à disque offrent de meilleures performances aux cyclistes sur route, qu’ils soient amateurs ou professionnels. Les surfaces de freinage en fibre de carbone imposent en effet d’importantes contraintes de conception car elles limitent les possibilités en termes de réduction du poids et de design de la jante. Le fait de les avoir supprimées nous a permis de repenser entièrement le profil de la jante. La SES 5.6 Disc possède ainsi une jante incurvée SES brevetée, optimisée pour le freinage à disque. Par ailleurs, les modèles à boyau de la SES 5.6 Disc carbone sont extrêmement légers, car tout le matériel utilisé pour maîtriser l’échauffement de la roue a été retiré. L’efficience structurelle de la jante et sa résistance aux chocs s’en trouvent renforcées. Dernier point, la SES 5.6 carbone à pneu est compatible tubeless elle peut également être montée avec des pneus avec chambre à air. Comme toutes les roues carbone SES à pneu et tubulaires de sa génération, la SES 5.6 Disc offre un aérodynamisme maximum lorsqu’elle est associée à des pneus rapides de 25 mm.

Front Axle

ENVE supports standard 100mm and boost 110mm front wheel 15mm thru-axle systems on all wheels except the M90 which uses a 20mm front axle. We can convert thru-axles to accommodate quick releases if your fork requires the use of a quick release. Front axle specifications are provided by your fork manufacturer.
