Coleman's Kavenz VHP16 Bike Check

Photos by Mike Swim

There comes a time in every rider’s life where they get to build their dream bike. ENVE marketing employee Coleman Edwards found his chance after ordering a custom-built Kavenz VHP16 frame earlier this year.

The German design uses a Virtual High Pivot suspension design and offers custom geometry from the manufacturer.

The paint scheme was inspired by a 90’s Toyota Baja race truck, a favorite from Coleman’s youth and his favorite ride in Forza Horizon. Shane Haberland of Shanes Paints brought the vision to life, and Coleman designed his own “sponsors” to complete the look.

The headbadge design came from internal graphic designer Bo, drawing inspiration from an older Toyota TRD logo. The design was laser engraved by a local company in Ogden, Utah.

Much of the componentry came from Utah-based companies, with ENVE, TRP, and EXT (whose US distributor is based in Salt Lake City) making up the major bits.

Some have asked if the design was inspired by the old Kleins of the 90s, a red and yellow popsicle, or the truck. Why not all three?
