the SES 3.4 visits Girona Spain

Nestled in the northern part of Catalunya, Griona has long been home base for an ever growing number of pro cyclists. Even a couple World Pro Tour teams have setup their service courses here. The milder climate and plentiful sunshine make for the ideal training conditions during the cold months of the year. The quiet roads around Girona offer up some of the best road cycling in Europe with everything from climbs, undulating coastal road, and flatter roads through the country side. With the Pyrenees looming just to the north, one can put together routes of all degrees of difficulty making for an ideal setting of our European launch of the new SES 3.4.

Retired pro Christian Meier, who moved to Girona to train when he was racing, recently opened up The Service Course, a new retail experience for cycling enthusiasts. TSC offers high-end bike rentals, guided rides, full bike repair services, an on-site Soignuer, showers, and any other service that you would expect from a professional cycling team. Christian’s vision for the TSC was to provide a hassle free experience for the avid rider who wants to come and ride any number of the incredible roads around Girona. We tapped into Christian’s recently opened TSC to welcome a few journalists from around Europe to come and ride our new SES 3.4 wheels.

We rode two days in the hills around Girona. Adverse-wet conditions on the day one gave the riders first hand experience with our excellent braking performance in the wet. The second day was sun drenched, giving the green light to put the 3.4’s though the paces. Ben King from Dimension Data along with Ashleigh Moolman and Gabrielle Pilote from Cervelo Bigla joined us during the weekend to ride and talk to the group. Henrik Orre, Velochef, created an incredible menu for everyone each evening to keep everyone fueled up.
