IRONMAN World Championships 2015

The IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii is the most iconic event in the sport of triathlon. It is where the best triathletes from around the world congregate to test themselves against the relentless winds, and heat on the Big Island’s Queen K and Alii Drive.

For ENVE it’s the one time of year that we get together with all our athletes and industry partners to celebrate the sport of triathlon and present our latest Smart ENVE System products that enable athletes to ride faster with more confidence.

We hope you enjoy this gallery from race day!

From the time the gun went off, our ENVE pros were having some excellent performances. Luke McKenzie, Tim Don, and Jodie Swallow all made it out of the water and onto the bike in front of race positions.

Out on the bike while Luke and Tim battled it out in the front group while ENVE’s female pro athletes were making up deficits on the bike in pursuit of race leaders including Jodie Swallow.

Heather Wurtele who had high expectations for the day was forced to exit the race due to an unfortunate mechanical on the first climb up Palani.

Ultimately the race was on to put time on the runners.

As the day progressed the women’s race quickly became a race for 2nd place as Daniela Ryf had a sizeable lead and showed no signs of slowing. The focus and excitement quickly turned to the battle for 2nd place where our own Rachel Joyce had recovered a sizable deficit to move into 2nd place where she would ultimately finish on the day.

Big congratulations go out to all our loyal athletes who put it all on the line to pursue the ultimate victory in the sport of triathlon.

Here’s to a great 2015 and even better 2016!
