Good Performance, Tire Mounting DOES Require Tire Irons

    Pat O’Shea

Unfortunately, I live in MD which is hell for cyclists with regard to debris on the side of the road (glass, nails, utility knives, fish hooks,.. pics available upon request). I have already trashed two Enve tires this year so I use tubes. To add, I have had over six flats this year, which the two I mentioned would have made no difference if they were setup as tubeless. I would have provided a 5-star rating last year, but the abundance of flats this year has changed my mind due to the ability to mount the tires. Do not let anyone fool you, you definitely need tire irons to install and remove these tires. They are not nearly as bad as GP5ks, but they are difficult to the point that I am always concerned that I could be stranded or pinch the tube when repairing.

We have not tested the tire with other hookless wheels but it should be compatible with other wheels. Contact your wheel manufacturer before mounting these on there.

  3. Question

    Eric Fremont

i’ve just recently purchased your SES road tires to use on my SES 3.4 wheels. I’m running them with tubes and the sidewall indicates max pressure of 90 psi. Is 90 psi that the max safe inflation with a tube? I’ m used to running conti 5000’s with 95 to 100 psi (they’re rated a higher than that), so just trying to assess how latitude i have with my new Enve tires without risking blowout, etc.?

When running an inner tube it is safe to add about 5-10 PSI to what we recommend on our Tire Pressure Chart. I suggest looking at the chart and starting from there before pumping your tire up to the maximum stiffness.

Will the 27c Enve SES Road Tire work with clincher tubeless compatible carbon wheels with 21mm internal rim width?

Yes, all of our tires should work with any rim with a rim hook. But only run it tubeless on tubeless compatible rims, otherwise use an inner tube.
